Painting the MDGs.
Using Seville as their canvas, 42 well-known artists and 200 volunteers interpreted the MDGs via creative renderings on the streets: 35 locations throughout Seville included 30 walls and five open areas for sculptures. Seville became one of the biggest open-air museums in Europe through 'Arte para todos' (Art for all). The artists painted murals with MDG themes such as sustainable development and gender equality. The purpose was to raise awareness of the MDGs and to establish an ongoing dialogue between the artists and the local population. After all, as one artist expressed, "The MDGs are more than just targets on paper."
