Nepal is facing a major humanitarian crisis following a devastating flash flood in Rasuwa District on 26 August 2026. The disaster caused widespread destruction across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts, leaving more than 1,000 people confirmed dead and over 4,250 others reported missing. As humanitarian needs continue to grow, United Nations agencies and local partners are scaling up emergency assistance. The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) stands ready to support the UN system's response and help communities recover from the disaster.
