Elvis Lundberg: I can, I will, I must!

With a spirit as boundless as the Himalayas and a heart brimming with compassion, Elvis embarks on a transformative journey, carving out spaces of belonging and empowerment for persons with disabilities in the heart of the UN system.
At the intersection of passion and purpose, Elvis found his calling as a Programme Officer for Disability Inclusive Development with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
As a disability champion within the UNDP, Elvis spearheaded initiatives that sought to dismantle barriers at every turn. From supporting the implementation of the "Aawaaz: Inclusion for and by Persons with Disabilities" programme to advocating for gender-responsive policies, Elvis left an indelible mark on the communities he served.
Elvis's journey into the realm of disability inclusion was not without its challenges. Battling the shadows of depression, Elvis navigated the intricate terrain of his assignment with courage and resilience.
From grappling with the fear of not being able to perform to embracing moments of vulnerability, Elvis's journey is a testament to self-acceptance and seeking support when needed.
Throughout his assignment, Elvis's unwavering commitment to inclusion reverberated far and wide, inspiring colleagues and stakeholders alike. Whether it was creating safe spaces for dialogue through initiatives like the Mood Cafe or garnering recognition from UN Assistant Secretary-General, Kanni Wignaraja, Elvis's impact was felt at every corner of the UNDP.
Reflecting on his journey as a UN Volunteer, Elvis is filled with a deep sense of gratitude for the invaluable lessons learned.
