Congratulations on your selection for a UN Volunteer assignment and welcome to the UN Volunteer onboarding portal!

These resource pages provide you with information on a variety of relevant topics as you start your journey as a UN Volunteer. Use the portal as a central reference point to be informed of policies and processes, accomplish key activities, find solutions and advance your learning during your UNV assignment.

This section of the portal, on pre-assignment preparation, will guide you through the recruitment process - from selection to deployment to your duty station - in a “check-list” form to make sure you complete all the necessary steps. It consists of 6 key steps and sub-activities that you must start and finalise within the suggested timeframe before you are cleared to travel to your assignment. You will also find resources on orientation to UNV, allowances, benefits and entitlements as per UNV Conditions of Service, guidance on support systems, and FAQ - all to refer to during your assignment as well.

National UN Volunteers

Proceed here if you have been selected to serve in your own country as a national UN Volunteer.

This section guides you through the recruitment process that has been initiated by UNV. You should have received your selection email from vmam-noreply@unv.org. If your recruitment is being processed via e-Recruit (agent-UNDPP1HR-donotreply@undp.org), please contact your focal person for further guidance on the recruitment process.

In either case, you must complete all steps here before you can start your assignment. In this section you will also find relevant information to complete your on-boarding process. Please do not resign from your current employment until your UNV contact person informs you to do so. The details of your contact person are in your offer cover letter sent to you via email.
