The Governing Council considers that the role of volunteers as development agents should be explicitly recognized in the international development strategy for the Fourth United Nations Development Decade. Also, the Governing Council requests that the United Nations Volunteers programme continue the annual consultative process with its full range of partners around a substantive theme of common interest to volunteers-sending organizations and requests the Administrator to include a report on these meetings in his biennial report to the Governing Council on the United Nations Volunteers programme.
