Andrey Pogrebnyak, UNV Deputy Executive Coordinator (Management)

Mr. Andrey Pogrebnyak (Ukraine) is serving as the Deputy Executive Coordinator (Management) of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV). Andrey provides executive oversight across UNV’s corporate functions, ensuring the organization runs effectively and delivers on the vision set by the UNV Executive Coordinator and UN reform priorities.

Andrey oversees a multidisciplinary portfolio encompassing volunteer services, budget and finance, human resources, corporate risk management, audit and compliance, information and communications technology, procurement, administrative services, security and safety, as well as common services for United Nations entities based in Bonn. 

With nearly three decades of international experience within the United Nations system, Andrey has held a wide range of senior leadership, advisory, and operational management roles across headquarters, regional hubs, and country offices. Since joining the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 1997, he has contributed to organizational transformation at both strategic and operational levels. He served as Operations Advisor and Head of Operations at UNDP’s Istanbul Regional Hub (2014–2018), where he led regional operations support and advised senior management on organizational performance and service delivery. In 2018, he was appointed Project Manager for UNDP’s management services and business process review initiative, working with the Executive Office in New York to advance institutional effectiveness and innovation.

Andrey holds a PhD from the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and an MBA from Kyiv National Economic University.
