SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals
More than 2,500 UN Volunteers, half of them women, have supported the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in delivering on its mandate in 95 countries over the past six years. The two agencies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding reaffirming this long-standing partnership.

On 26 August 2016, during a side event preceeding TICAD VI, Richard Dictus, the Executive Coordinator of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme and Ambassador Dr. Kipyego Cheluget, Assistant Secretary General of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) towards establishing the COMESA Youth Volunteer Scheme (COMESA-YVS). The MOU signing was a culmination of extensive discussions between the two organizations led by the UNV Regional Office for Eastern and Southern Africa based in Nairobi.

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme and Action Aid Denmark reaffirmed their longstanding partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the sidelines of the UNV Partnerships Forum 2014. The fruitful partnership between UNV and Action Aid Denmark started in 1971 and since then, the Danish organization has been fully funding UN Volunteers assignments and supporting UNV in the recruitment, preparation and training of Danish nationals, who are placed as UN Volunteers with United Nations entities worldwide.

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme signed a Memorandum of Understanding today with its long-standing partners, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).  UNV Executive Coordinator Richard Dictus signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the State Secretary of the BMZ Hans-Jürgen Beerfeltz and GIZ Managing Director Cornelia Richter.  The ceremony took place at the premises of the Ministry, following discussions about the current and future collaboration between the thr
